From time to time we are notified that one of our children have dropped below the required level of grades required to maintain their sponsorship. When this happens we are contacted by YKIP to see what we would like to do.

We always ask for the reasons and if there is anything that can be done for the child to help them.

I wanted to share this email with you that we recieved from Rucina (YKIP Ceo) in response;

Dear Lucy and Gary,

We met with the family:.  Here’s the situation:

KURNIAWAN:  Mother is raising four kids by herself and the eldest child died recently.
He acts out a lot.  When we asked the mom if there were problems at home, she said no
but then one of the teachers told us that it’s quite a struggle.  RECOMMEND TO KEEP ON.

Thanks, Lucy and Gary
Ru
We agreed to keep working with the child, and offered to fund some home tutoring for him to help him  through this difficult time.
What would you do?
Wishing you peace and plenty.
Lucy
